Cocoa Puffs

Make this for the littlies or make them for the adults, everyone will love them.  They’re chocolatey and crunchy, you can snack on them or add your favourite milk for a delicious and satisfying breakfast cereal.  Better than the store-bought varieties that contain approx 17gms of sugar per serve, this recipe comes just under 5 grams per serve.

  • 4 cups gluten free rice puffs
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons honey

  1. In a small pot, combine the coconut oil, cocoa powder and honey and simmer for a few minutes until well combined.
  2. Place the rice puffs in a large bowl and drizzle the cocoa mixture all over it and combine well with a wooden spoon until the puffs are well coated.
  3. Then divide the mixture between 2 baking trays and bake at 160 degrees for 9 minutes.
  4. Remove from the oven immediately and stir with a wooden spoon to remove clumps.
  5. Once cooled, you can store them in a jar for up to 1 month.
