Healthy Twix Bar

A healthy twist to a delicious chocolately caramely favourite, the twix bar.  Be warned though, these are so good it’s a little hard to stop at one.  Enjoy!

 

Ingredients

Biscuit Base

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup almond butter
  • 1/2 cup oat flour
  • 1/3 cup almond flour

Caramel Middle Layer

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 3 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • pinch salt

Chocolate Layer

  • 2/3 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Combine all the biscuit base ingredients into a bowl and mix really well or you can put this into a blender to make the job easier.
  2. Press the biscuit base into a tin lined with baking paper.
  3. Mix all the caramel middle layer ingredients and smooth this on top of the biscuit base.
  4. Melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil and pour over the top.
  5. Place in the fridge to set for at least 3 hours or in the freezer for 1 hour before slicing and serving.
  6. Store it in the fridge, if there's any left.
