Translated at “little ears” from the word orecchiette – these delightful little pasta shapes are guaranteed to soak up this delicious pasta sauce.

Ingredients
- 500 gms packet orrecchiete pasta
- 1/2 broccolli, stalks and florets separated & chopped
- 1 garlic clove
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 8 rashers bacon, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- Salt & Pepper
- 1 small red chilli, chopped
Instructions
- Bring a pot of water to the boil, then add some salt and the pasta.
- In a frying pan, saute the onion, bacon, broccoli stalks, garlic & chilli until it cooks approx 5 minutes stirring constantly.
- Then add the broccoli florets, stir and cook for a further 5 minutes or until broccoli softens. Turn the heat off.
- Strain the cooked pasta, reserving one ladel full and adding it to the broccoli dish, stirring it through.
- Add the cooked pasta to the broccoli pan and stir.
- Finish off with some chopped parsley and parmesan
