Ingredients
- 500 gms Beef mince
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 700 grams bottle of Passata with Basil
- 1 tablespoon Italian herbs
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 onion
- 2 small carrots
- 2 celery stalks
- 1 zucchini
- 2 teaspoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Add the oil to a non-stick heavy based pot
- Then add the finely chopped onion, garlic, celery and carrot
- Saute until softened
- Then add the beef mince, breaking it up with a wooden spoon whilst stirring into through the vegetables
- Add the tomato paste and seasoning
- Add 1 grated zucchini and stir through
- Add the whole bottle of passata then add 1/3 full of water into the same empty bottle of passata, give it a shake then pour into the sauce.
- Allow the sauce to come to a boil, then stir, place the lid on and drop the heat to low to allow to simmer for 1 hour.
- Continue to stir the sauce every 10-12 minutes to prevent it from drying out and burning.
- If the sauce looks like it's drying out, add a little more water and stir through.
- Serve with pasta, rice or zucchini noodles.
